The Ring(English) vs Ringu(Japanese)

The Ring is my all time favorite horror movie. No movie has scared me so much as it. I still remember the night I saw it for the first time I had to keep the lights ON for the whole night. That Scared.
So when I heard that the Original Japanese movie Ringu, of which The Ring was a Remake was scarier, I decided to watch it. But it couldn't remove The Ring from my all time fav list.
The remade version was changed quite a lot. There was more build up to the story. There was more effort for the story behind the video. I mean in the Japanese version it is almost a blink and a miss. I am very sure if I had watched the Japanese version first, it wouldn't have scared me. Thank God I didn't.
So for all those you out there if you love being scared and still haven't seen The Ring, Please See it Soon.

24 Jhakkasised

For the past few years I have heard the same thing again and again. I am having offers from the West, I am reading the scripts, This is really going to be a cross over stuff, blah blah blah.

Names like Ash, SRK, Hrithik, Aamir, Salman, etc etc were going ga ga over how they are being approached by the Hollywood and how they are really interested in casting them in their projects.

Well those are still talks. And they haven't been in anything remotely popular western stuff yet.

And who has really crossed over now. Our very own Lakhan. Anil 'Jhakkas' Kapoor.

Yes he has landed himself a role in the popular series 24 as President of some made up country. And not a blink and a miss kinda stuff. He is one of the major characters in the plot. President Omar Hassan. 24 is a very popular series down West and to see Anil bhai be a part of that show just feels Awesome.

He doesn't look in any awe whatsoever. Such confidence. Such charm. That too against Jack Bauer. WOW. I saw the first five episodes and everytime he walks in to a frame, AWESOME.(though he could have worked a bit on his accent)

He has to thank his role in Slumdog Millionaire to a great extent for having this opportunity.

Wishing All the Best to this guy who Never seems to get Old and Thanking him to show us this day when a real Bollywood Star is a part of something this Global.

ZOMBIELAND

Rule # 1
Cardio
Rule # 2
Beware of Bathrooms
Rule # 3
Wear your Seatbelts
Rule # 4
DoubleTap(MY FAVORITE)

I can't remember the last time I had such a guilty pleasure while watching a movie. Zombieland takes the evergreen genre of "Zombies", turns it on its head, and has a blast in almost each and every scene. Someone asked me what genre this movie belongs to. Made me think for 2 mins. I think it can best be described as an Action-Comedy. But its not for ones who dont like the gory stuff because thats one thing which is really in your face in the movie. The Zombies have never looked so disgusting in a movie before. There is some black blood kinda liquid and flesh of their snack hanging out of their mouth which made some folks sitting next to me scream more than once. Another thing I wondered was how did all these stuff snick around the Censor blade. Thank God it did.
Story is nothing more than a Road Trip in the ZombieClad America, but the subtle sarcasms and the comic timing made me laugh out loud a number of times.
And then there are GUNS. And different styles in which you can kill the zombies. Boy that was fun.
The Soundtrack of the movie was fantastic and in line with the events occurring in the movie. I have to get the OST.
There are only 4 characters in the movie and the one that stood out for me was Woody Harrelson. His John Wooish style to kill Zombies just made my day.
The success of this movie has prompted the announcement of ZombieLand2. But we'll have to wait for sometime for that. I just hope that the wait is not too long.

So for all those who still haven't watched this, try it in theaters. It's loads of fun.
